Matthew Morrison joins American Horror Story: 1984

What To Expect When You're Expecting

Story by Jack Foley

FORMER Glee star Matthew Morrison has joined the cast of American Horror Story: 1984.

The actor joins fellow newcomers DeRon Horton and Zach Villa, as well as past regulars Billie Lourd, Cody Fern and Leslie Grossman in the FX horror anthology as it enters its ninth season.

Emma Roberts has already been announced as the lead of the new series, while newcomers Gus Kenworthy and Angelica Ross have also previously been confirmed among the cast.

As with most Ryan Murphy productions, very little is known about the plot details of the ninth run of American Horror Story. A teaser trailer invoked memories of the slasher-horror films of the ’80s.

The year 1984 saw a number of horror films released in cinemas, thereby providing Murphy and Brad Falchuk with a deep pool to refer to for the forthcoming season, which returns in September 2019 on FX.

Morrison also steals the show in the trailer, courtesy of his mustachioed look and the many close-ups on the package filling his short shorts.

Morrison’s casting marks a Glee reunion for the actor and Murphy, who created the hit Fox series.
