Matthew Perry for TV Odd Couple reboot

FORMER Friends luminary Matthew Perry looks set to bring The Odd Couple back to TV.
The actor, best known for playing Chandler Bing in the long-running comedy, is to write and executive produce a new take on Neil Simon’s Broadway play for CBS.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perry will play easygoing roommate Oscar Madison. As yet, the role of the uptight Felix Ungar has yet to be announced.
Walter Matthau and Art Carney starred in the original Broadway run, which earned the former a best actor Tony and the production a best play.
Jack Lemmon replaced Carney for the 1968 feature film, the successs of which spawned an ABC comedy starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall that ran for five seasons from 1970 to 1975.
Perry was most recently seen on a recurring role on legal drama The Good Wife. He also has the CBS series Mr Sunshine and Go On to his name.
Mad About You‘s Danny Jacobson will pen the script for The Odd Couple reboot, as well as serve as an executive producer.
