Misfits to get fifth series

Misfits: Series 3

Story by Jack Foley

CULT comedy Misfits will return for a fifth series, E4 has been confirmed.

The renewal also means that plans for a movie version of the series remain on track.

Series creator Howard Overman has previously revealed that he is working on a movie version that could potentially bring back old characters.

“If it happens, it will involve past and present characters,” he said in November. “Whether or not you’ve completely seen the end of Simon (Iwan Rheon) and Alisha (Antonia Thomas) if our movie has its way, is another issue.”

The fourth series of the show introduced a new regular cast when it aired on E4 in late 2012, headed by This Is England‘s Joseph Gilgun.

The fifth season will comprise eight episodes and will air in late 2013.
