More casting glee for Gwyneth but not for Misfits
Story by Tim Carson
There’s good and bad news on the casting front this week as several series confirm changes and reappearances.
Gwyneth Paltrow will be returning to Glee as Holly Holiday this time with dyed black hair and a sexy red tunic according to The Sun. She’ll also perform Stevie Nick’s “Landslide” and “Do You Wanna Touch Me” as part of a “talk to the Glee kids about safe sex.
Whether having Gwyneth Paltrow strip off and perform a Gary Glitter song to a bunch of teenagers is appropriate or not is well debatable.
In other good news Law & Order fans will be pleased to hear that Alana De La Garza will be returning Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa. Sadly it won’t be on the original series which is now in its last season but in the spin-off series Law & Order: LA.
De La Garza told TV Line: “I was in negotiations for a pilot when the head writer sent me a quick email to say, ‘Don’t do anything rash, we’re trying to resurrect Connie’. Maybe this will give [the fans] a sense that Law & Order is still going on, it’s just not on the air.”
Over on the set of House there’s mixed news as Amber Tamblyn who’s been starring as Martha Masters in the current series will leave but only when Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) returns. Tamblyn could return to House at some point but she’s also in talk over a new show for Fox where she would play a teacher.
And finally bad news for Misfits fans as the show’s executive producer Petra Fried confirmed that Robert Sheehan will not be returning for the third series. Sheehan’s character Nathan will be replaced by a new character called Rudy.
