THE GRAHAM Norton Show is to replace Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. The popular chat show will move to its Friday night slot on October 22, 2010.

The announcement was made at the Edinburgh Television Festival by Jay Hunt, the Controller of BBC One, who said: “I’m sure the audience will love his unique blend of comedy and entertainment on a Friday night.”

Norton’s show began on BBC Two in 2007 before switching to BBC One in October 2009.

Commenting on the move, Norton said: “I’m thrilled that BBC One like the show enough to move it to Fridays…It’s the night the show started on many years ago so it’s nice to be back.”

And as previously confirmed in May, Norton will also be filling Ross’ BBC Radio 2 slot on Saturday mornings from October 2.

At the beginning of this year, Ross announced that he would be leaving the BBC after 13 years.
