Parks and Recreation headed to BBC4

Parks and Recreation

FINALLY… hit US comedy Parks and Recreation is coming to the UK.

BBC Four has confirmed that it will air the show later this year.

Channel controller Richard Klein said in a statement: “I’m delighted that we have acquired Parks and Recreation, one of America’s smartest comedy series.”

He added: “BBC Four is in really great shape at the moment, with share continuing to increase. We’ve had a great critical and audience response to recent programmes, from Food Glorious Food to the Big Science season; and of course, the much anticipated return of The Killing III which launched with over a million viewers.”

Parks and Recreation stars Amy Poehler as an optimistic, mid-level bureaucrat who works at the Parks department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana.

It is currently screening its fifth season in the US and also stars Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe.

The show was co-created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur (of NBC’s The Office fame).
