Story by Jack Foley

ROB Corddry is to play the lead role in ABC’s US remake of hit British comedy Spy.

The actor, who will shortly be seen on the big screen alongside Nicholas Hoult in Warm Bodies, will play the role of Tim in the comedy pilot.

As with the Sky1 original, Tim will be a well-intentioned father of a highly intelligent and verbal son, who inadvertently takes a job at the secret service in order to prove himself a worthy father.

Simeon Goulden, creator of the Sky1 series, is writing the pilot for ABC and the episode – which ABC is looking to bring to a full series order – will adopt the same half an hour format.

Corddry’s other notable big screen roles include John Cusack ensemble comedy Hot Tub Time Machine and What Happens in Vegas alongside Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz.
