Rob Lowe to star in ITV crime thriller Wild Bill

Rob Lowe

Story by Jack Foley

ROB Lowe is to play a high-flying US cop relocated to a small British port town in new six-part ITV crime drama Wild Bill.

The US actor, who will also serve as executive producer, will play Bill Hixon, an American police chief who lands in Boston, Lincolnshire, with his 14-year-old daughter Kelsey in tow hoping they can flee their painful recent past.

But this unfamiliar, unimpressed community will force Bill to question everything about himself and leave him asking whether it’s Boston that needs Bill, or Bill that needs Boston?

Commenting on the series, Lowe said: “As an actor, Wild Bill is a larger than life character who’s outrageously articulate, has nothing to lose and revels in being an American fish out of water. As an executive producer, I’m excited to work with such talented partners and to come back to work in the UK, which I always love.”

Wild Bill was created by David Griffiths (The Hunted, Collateral Damage), Kyle Killen (Halo, Awake) and Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble (Silent Witness), and will be written by lead writers and show-runners Keeble and Appleton.

Filming will take place around London and in Lincolnshire from November 2018.

Further casting details will be available before filming commences.

Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor Lowe is no stranger to TV, having scored multiple successes in shows as diverse as I>The West Wing, Parks & Recreation, Californication and Code Black.
