Rupert Evans and Lara Pulver join Sky's Ian Fleming biopic
Story by Jack Foley
RUPERT Evans and Lara Pulver have joined the cast of Sky Atlantic’s new Ian Fleming biopic.
Evans, who can currently be seen in epic mini-series World Without End, will play Ian’s brother, the celebrated travel writer and war hero Peter, while Pulver (who was last seen in Sherlock) will play Ann O’Neill, a Baroness whose wartime meeting with Fleming altered their lives.
The drama, currently under the working title Fleming, has already announced Dominic Cooper in the leading role of the James Bond author.
Other new cast additions include Lesley Manville, who will play Fleming’s mother Eve, Annabelle Wallis as a young girl who catches the author’s eye and Samuel West, who has been cast as director of naval intelligence Admiral John Godfrey, a man who is credited with shaping Fleming’s portrayal of Bond’s boss M.
Anna Chancellor will also play the Admiral’s secretary Lieutenant Monday, who was said to be one of the inspirations for Moneypenny.
Fleming is being shot on location in the UK and Budapest and will air on Sky Atlantic HD later this year.
