Russell Brand's Brand X cancelled by FX
Story by Jack Foley
RUSSELL Brand comedy Brand X has been cancelled by FX.
The news comes on the same day that the actor and comedian announced his first world tour, the Messiah Complex.
Brand will maintain his relationship with the network, however, with FX Productions CEO John Landgraf teasing a pilot pick-up from the comedian and a “scripted live-action comedy” in the works.
Talking about the former project, Landgraf compared it to Curb Your Enthusiasm, saying it would be loosely based on the comic’s own life – although a writer has yet to be found and the project is still very much in the early stages of development.
