Rutger Hauer joins True Blood as series regular
Story by Jack Foley
RUTGER Hauer has joined the cast of True Blood as a series regular.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the veteran actor will play a character named Macklyn, who has a deep and dark connection to both Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her brother, Jason (Ryan Kwanten).
The Dutch actor will make his debut in season six.
It is likely that Hauer will form part of the ongoing storyline involving Sookie and Jason’s search to find out who really killed their parents – which, thus far, points to a vampire named Warlow.
Hauer is a Dutch actor best known for roles in seminal films Blade Runner, The Hitcher and Batman Begins.
He won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his role in the made-for-TV film Escape from Sobibor.
