Story by Jack Foley
FORMER Life co-lead Sarah Shahi has won a recurring role on new firefighting drama Chicago Fire.
According to TV Line, the actress will play a new love interest for Kelly Severide (played by Taylor Kinney).
She will play a character named Renee Royce, a successful businesswoman, and is expected to appear in around six episodes of the drama.
Chicago Fire is the new series from NBC and also stars Jesse Spencer (House) as firefighter Matthew Casey. It debuted with 6.61m in the US earlier this month and has recently shown viewer gains, prompting the channel to order more back-end episodes.
Shahi, who played the partner of Damian Lewis in Life, currently stars in comedy-drama Fairly Legal, which has yet to be picked up for a third season by the cable network.
She will shortly be seen alongside Sylvester Stallone in film thriller Bullet To The Head.
Chicago Fire airs in the UK on Sky Living on Wednesday nights at 9pm.
