Strictly - Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster guest
Story by Lizzie Guilfoyle
THIS coming Saturday (November 7, 2009), Rod Stewart will be the guest singer on Strictly Come Dancing which, for one week only, comes live from Blackpool Tower Ballroom, the home of ballroom dancing.
Stewart will be performing the hit Same Old Song and will be joined by his wife and former Strictly contestant Penny Lancaster, who will be teaming up with Strictly professional dancer Matthew Cutler, to perform a Cha Cha Cha during her husband’s performance.
It will be the first time that Penny has returned to the show since competing in series five in 2007. Then, she didn’t get to perform the Cha Cha Cha with her professional dance partner Ian Waite, so it’s a dance she has waited a long time to do.
Rod Stewart and Penny will be flying up to Blackpool in their own private jet, while the rest of the Strictly crew will be travelling up by coach.
Just nine couples remain in the competition: Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna, Natalie Cassidy and Vincent Simone, Ricky Groves and Erin Boag, Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan, Jade Johnson and Ian Waite, Craig Kelly and Flavia Cacace, Laila Rouass and Anton du Beke, Phil Tufnell and Katya Virshilas and Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe.
Strictly Come Dancing is available on BBC One and BBC HD.
Date and Time: Saturday, November 7 at 6.25pm.
