STEVEN Spielberg ‘dinosaur drama’ Terra Nova has been axed by Fox after just one season.

But it could yet live on if 20th Century Fox TV manages to successfully sell it to other networks.

The big budget prehistoric series averaged 7.5 million viewers in the US but failed to do as well as hoped, particularly in light of a lukewarm reception from some fans and critics.

The drama starred Jason O’Mara, Stephen Lang (pictured, Christine Adams and Shelley Conn and was set 85 million years into the planet’s Cretaceous past as people from the future are sent to try and rebuild civilsation.

Terra Nova also aired in the UK on Sky 1.
