The Borgias renewed for third season
Story by Jack Foley
JEREMY Irons’ costume drama The Borgias has been renewed for a third season.
Showtime has ordered another 10 episodes of the series, which sees Irons playing Pope Alexander VI, for 2013.
The announcement comes even though the sophomore season has failed to attract as many viewers as the first… although it seems to garner a bigger following on platforms such as On Demand, where it can command over a million followers.
The show, which earned Irons a Golden Globe nomination for its first season, as well as Emmys for outstanding costumes and main title theme music, also continues to generate positive reviews.
Shooting will begin in Budapest, Hungary, this summer on the third series.
