Timothy Olyphant joins The Mandalorian

Story by Jack Foley

TIMOTHY Olyphant is the latest actor to join Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

Olyphant, who most recently starred on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, will appear in the upcoming second season two of the Star Wars-based series, according to multiple sources quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

It is unknown whether the actor will play a new character or a returning favourite in a new guise – and so far there have been no speculative leaks.

The Mandalorian has finished shooting under a veil of secrecy but it promises to expand the universe uncovered in the first run of episodes, while bringing in some new faces. Among those already confirmed to join are Terminator star Michael Biehn and Temuera Morrison, who has returned to the Star Wars galaxy to play fan favourite Boba Fett.

Lucasfilm and Disney had no comment.

The Mandalorian season two is due to debut on Disney+ this October (2020).

Directors such as Alita: Battle Angel’s Robert Rodriguez and Ant-Man’s Peyton Reed have joined returning director Dave Filloni and show creator Jon Favreau, who also is directing an episode.

Olyphant is a popular actor whose credits include Die Hard 4 on the big screen and hit TV series such as Deadwood and Justified.
