Touch star David Mazouz is Gotham's Batman

Touch

Story by Jack Foley

DAVID Mazouz, the child star of now-cancelled Kiefer Sutherland drama Touch, has landed the plumb role of a pre-teen Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) in Gotham.

The young actor will play Wayne as a boy as he leans on his butler Alfred and Commissioner James Gordon for guidance after his wealthy parents are murdered.

However, according to Variety, Mazouz will not at any point become Batman in the show – a point that Warner Bros. is reportedly at pains to point out in its casting announcement.

Mazouz played Sutherland’s son in Touch.

Another new addition to the ever-expanding Gotham cast is unknown actress Camren Bicondova, who will play Selina Kyle, a teenage orphan and street thief who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable.

Gotham will focus on young Commissioner Gordon’s adventures in law enforcement and in the roots of the villains that Batman later faces in trying to police Gotham City. Former Southland star Ben McKenzie stars as Gordon.
