Vic Reeves for BBC comedy series Hebburn
Story by Jack Foley
VIC Reeves has signed-up to play a merchant sailor in a new comedy drama for the BBC.
The six part series, named Hebburn, will see the comedian playing a character named Tony Dixon in a story inspired by the true-life experiences of series creator and stand-up comedian Jason Cook as he grew up in the north east of England.
The show itself is based around Reeves’ on-screen son Jason, who leaves his Tyneside home to seek out the “bright lights and glamour” of Manchester.
Reeves will be joined by Fresh Meat actress Kimberley Nixon, who will play a middle-class Jewish girl who Jason secretly marries.
