Warwick Davis joins An Idiot Abroad

Life's Too Short

Story by Jack Foley

WARWICK Davis is reuniting with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant for their hit Sky1 show An Idiot Abroad.

The third series of the popular series is due to air in late 2012 and it has just been announced that Karl Pilkington will have a new friend joining him on his adventures.

After sending Karl to see the Seven Wonders and then on a journey of a lifetime to experience the ultimate ‘Things To Do Before You Die’, Gervais has now persuaded Karl to embark on an epic journey that will see him attempting to follow the footsteps of famous explorer Marco Polo, from Italy to China… with Warwick in tow.

Warwick Davis last worked with Gervais and company on the BBC2 comedy Life’s Too Short.

Gervais commented: “Karl once said to me that opposites attract. Warwick Davis is sociable, hard working and never complains. They should get along fine.”

Pilkington added: “I don’t know how it will work out. Honestly. Edmund Hillary had that Tenzing fella, Ben Fogle had James Cracknell. I’ve been given an Ewok.”

And Davis said: “I’ll be following in the footsteps of Marco Polo who, on his deathbed, said: ‘I did not write half of what I saw, for I knew I would not be believed.’ That’s pretty much what I thought after I first met Karl.”
