Zen and Larkrise to Candleford cancelled by BBC

GLAMOUROUS detective show Zen and Sunday period drama Larkrise to Candleford have both been cancelled by BBC1 controller Danny Cohen.
Zen had been one of the BBC’s big new hopes for future Sunday night schedules.
Starring Rufus Sewell and adapted from author Michael Dibdin’s series of Roman crime novels, it was seen to have offered the potential to fill the gap in the market created by the likes of Kenneth Branagh’s Wallander.
In other BBC news, under-performing Monday night sci-fi saga, Outcasts, has also been moved to a less glamorous Sunday night slot, at 10.25pm.
Originally broadcast over two nights (Monday and Tuesday at 9pm), the ambitious sci-fi has failed to gain traction with viewers, prompting Cohen’s decision to shift it about the schedules.
