Be part of Chickenshed's 1984
CHICKENSHED Kensington and Chelsea are calling for young people of 16 years and over to become members of their new and fast grown theatre company.
The first project for this new group will be to take part in weekly workshops leading towards an original performance of 1984, inspired by George Orwell’s classic novel.
Chickenshed’s exciting adaptation has been written specifically for an ensemble cast and the production will involve drama, movement, song and original music.
A series of performance workshops will begin on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, when participants will be given the opportunity to develop their performance skills and collaborate with the artistic team in devising this new piece of work.
The final production will be performed at the Chelsea Theatre to a public audience on April 1 and April 2, 2014.
All workshops will be led by Chickenshed’s highly skilled practitioners who will create and explore drama, dance and music with the members. The participants will have the opportunity to meet new people with a shared passion for theatre and the performing arts and will be part of an exciting, inclusive creative process. No previous experience of performance is required, just an interest and enthusiasm for theatre.
