FOOTSBARN Theatre Company is returning to London for the first time in 17 years to perform A Shakespeare Party, a show specially conceived for the Globe Theatre – from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, 2008.
Through a riot of visual theatre, masks, dance, puppets, magic and circus, 16 performers from 11 countries, including guests artists such as acclaimed British actress Nola Rae, will throw a truly unforgettable Shakespeare Party using the ‘juicy bits’ from plays such as Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth, The Tempest and The Winter’s Tale, as well as a liberal sprinkling of songs and sonnets.
Founded 35 years ago in Cornwall, Footsbarn Theatre has toured the world, sharing Shakespeare’s genius through ‘music, magic and mayhem’. For the past 20 years, the company has been based in the centre of France in the Auvergne. Now, for the first time since 1991 and following a sell-out production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Paris, Footsbarn returns to London.
Tickets: £5 – £33.
Times: Friday, May 23 at 7:30pm; Saturday, May 24 at 2pm and 7:30pm; and Sunday, May 25 at 1pm and 6:30pm.
