Final casting announced for The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre

Final casting has been announced for The Prince of Egypt, which opens at the Dominion Theatre in February 2020.

Completing the cast are Mercedesz Csampai (Yocheved), Simbi Akande, Casey Al-Shaqsy, Joe Atkinson, Danny Becker, Felipe Bejarano, Pàje Campbell, Adam Filipe, Soophia Foroughi, Natalie Green, Jack Harrison-Cooper, Rachael Ireson, Kalene Jeans, Christian Knight, Jessica Lee, Oliver Lidert, Jay Marsh, Scott Maurice, Carly Miles, Sam Oladeinde, Alice Readie, Christopher Short, Ricardo Walker, Danny Williams, Niko Wirachman and Sasha Woodward.

Previously Posted: Further casting has been announced for the new musical The Prince of Egypt, which opens at the Dominion Theatre on February 25, 2020, following preview performances from February 5.

Joining previously announced Luke Brady (as Moses), Liam Tamne (Ramses), Christine Allado (Tzipporah) and Alexia Khadime (Miriam) are Joe Dixon (Seti), Debbie Kurup (Queen Tuya), Gary Wilmot (Jethro), Adam Pearce (Hotep), Tanisha Spring (Nefertari) and Silas Wyatt-Barke (Aaron), with further casting to be announced.

Previously Posted: A new musical The Prince of Egypt, based on the acclaimed DreamWorks Animation film of the same name, will receive its West End premiere at the Dominion Theatre in February 2020.

The Prince of Egypt dramatises the story of Moses. Born a child of Israel, Moses grew up to become an Egyptian prince and later led the Israelites out of Egypt, as told in the Book of Exodus.

The film featured the voices of Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock, Jeff Goldblum and Patrick Stewart and was subsequently nominated for 15 awards, winning Best Animated Feature at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

The world premiere of The Prince of Egypt was performed in 2017 at TheatreWorks in Silicon Valley, California, and the following year, the European premiere was staged at the Fredericia Teater in Denmark.

Featuring the Academy Award®-winning, chart-topping song When You Believe, The Prince of Egypt is an exhilarating, powerful and joyous celebration of belief and the human spirit.

The Prince of Egypt has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), an original book by Philip LaZebnik, choreography by Sean Cheesman and direction by Scott Schwartz. Set design is by Kevin Depinet, costume design by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design by Mike Billings, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Jon Driscoll and illusion design by Chris Fisher.

Orchestrations are from August Eriksmoen, with musical supervision and arrangements by Dominick Amendum, musical direction by Dave Rose and casting by Jim Arnold.

Dates: February 5 to September 12, 2020, with tickets on sale from Monday, June 3, 2019.
