Mark Strong in Robin Hood

Casting news

FULL casting has been announced for Ivo van Hove’s new production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge, which begins performances at the Young Vic on April 4, 2014.

Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Zero Dark Thirty, Robin Hood, Body of Lies) will play Eddie Carbone, the tragic hero of Miller’s dark and passionate tale, with Nicola Walker (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Last Tango in Halifax) as his wife Beatrice.

The cast will also include Michael Gould (as Alfieri), Emun Elliott (Marco), Phoebe Fox (Catherine), Richard Hansell (Louis), Luke Norris (Rodolpho) and Jonah Russell (First Officer).

In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. When one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.

A View from the Bridge will have design and lighting by Jan Versweyveld, costumes by An D’Huys and sound by Tom Gibbons.

Due to demand, the play’s run has been extended to June 7, 2014.
