Abi Titmus joins cast of Fat Christ at the King's Head
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
ABI Titmus will star alongside Tim Downie, Jennifer Matter and Jack Taylor in Gavin Davis’ new comedy, Fat Christ, which runs from Tuesday, February 26 to Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Islington’s King’s Head Theatre.
Jack Taylor is always hopeful that the next idea will give him his big break in life but so far, his attempts have left him and his pregnant wife with next to nothing and Jack has to clean windows just to put food on the table.
However, never one to admit defeat, he sells himself into another insanely ambitious scheme with a top London art dealer, thereby crucifying himself to his ambitions for a better life.
Described as an hilarious comedy full of sharp one-liners, sustained humour and a gloriously uplifting twist in the tale, Fat Christ is directed by Heather Simpkin.
Although best known for her numerous appearances in newspapers and magazines, such as The Sunday Times Style, Heat, Closer, GQ and FHM, former nurse Abi Titmus made her West End acting debut in March 2006, in the Arthur Miller play, Two Way Mirror, for which she was awarded Best West End Debut by the Fringe Report.
Downie’s credits include The 1966 World Cup (as Bobby Moore) and Glory Days (as Alex); Matter’s roles include Maid Marion in Robin Hood (Creation Theatre Company) and the film Notes on a Scandal; and Taylor’s credits include Humble Boy, Twelfth Night (as Sir Toby), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (as Oberon), An Inspector Calls (as Gerald) and Twelfth Night (as Orsino).
Fat Christ is presented by GDA Productions.
