FROM November 30, 2009 (with previews from November 23), twelve year old Dean-Charles Chapman from Essex will return to the London cast of Billy Elliot the Musical to play the title role.

At the age of seven, Dean played Small Boy in the original cast and last year, he returned to the production for the first time to play Billy’s best friend Michael.

This time around, Dean will be joining Oliver Gardner (12 years old from Bath), Tom Holland (13 years old from Kingston-upon-Thames) and Fox Jackson-Keen (14 years old from Hornsey, London), who alternate the role of Billy.

The boys will be performing alongside principal cast members Joanna Riding (as Mrs Wilkinson), Joe Caffrey (Dad), Craig Gallivan (Tony), Ann Emery (Grandma), David Nellist (George), Sean Kingsley (Mr Braithwaite), Samantha Seager (Dead Mum) and Barnaby Meredith (Older Billy).

The cast will also include 11 year old Connor Kelly, 12 year old George Maycock and 13 year old Jake Pratt, who alternate the role of Michael; and 10 year old Emily Smith, 12 year old Fleur Houdijk and 10 year old Francesca Mango who alternate the role of Debbie.

Set in the North East of England, Billy Elliot the Musical is a funny, heart-warming and feel-good celebration of one young boy’s dreams.

Directed by Stephen Daldry and with a score by Elton John, Billy Elliot The Musical has award-winning choreography by Peter Darling, designs by Ian MacNeil, sound by Paul Arditti and lighting by Rick Fisher.

Since its world premiere four years ago, the international award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical has played to over four million people worldwide, including HM The Queen. And in March next year, the London production will celebrate its fifth birthday at the Victoria Palace Theatre, where it’s currently booking until December 18, 2010.
