Bin Laden: The One Man Show transfers to Courtyard Theatre
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
FOLLOWING a successful run in Edinburgh, Knaive Theatre’s Bin Laden: The One Man Show is transferring to the Courtyard Theatre, where it runs from August 30 to September 22, 2013.
Bin Laden: The One Man Show is the story of the world’s most wanted terrorist, the man who shook the world, and examines the vilification of those who stand up for an unpopular idea and don’t back down.
Graduating from Jeddah University in Economics and Management, joining and funding the Mujahideen in Pakistan and founding Al-Quaeda, Bin Laden became the face of terrorism. This much we know. Most of the rest we have to piece together from political, rhetoric, personal opinion and media spin.
Bin Laden: The One Man Show asks who he was and why he did what he did.
Toby Tyrrell-Jones and Sam Redway are Knaïve Theatre. They are committed to making accessible and entertaining political theatre that mixes with storytelling.
The show has been co-produced by Arch 468 and the company is supported by David Gothard, Fell Edge (North Yorkshire) and Theatre Delicatessen (London).
Tickets: £11, £8.95 concessions – available from the box office on +44 (0)844 477 1000 or online at www.thecourtyard.org.uk/.
Running Time: 50 minutes.
