Cinderella - Steven Webb stars

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THIS YEAR, the Lyric’s traditional pantomime (now in its fourth year) is Cinderella and it runs at the Hammersmith venue from November 24, 2012 to January 5, 2013.

And back by popular demand is Steven Webb, who previously starred as the lovable Dick Whittington and played the cheeky blue monkey Wishy Washy in last year’s Aladdin.

Regarded by many as the definitive Posner in The History Boys, Steven Webb has also appeared on stage in The Thing About Men (Landor Theatre), After The Turn (Courtyard Theatre), Betwixt! (Trafalgar Studios) and Departure Lounge (Waterloo East). His television credits include The Inbetweeners, Bad Girls, The Bill and Holby City.

In Cinderella, he will be joined by actress, broadcaster and comedian Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off, BBC TV; Eurobeat, West End/national tour) as the wicked stepmother and West End star Julie Atherton (currently playing Sister Mary Robert in the first UK tour of Sister Act) as Cinderella.

And directing his first Lyric panto will be the venue’s Olivier Award-winning Artistic Director, Sean Holmes.

Suitable for ages 6+.
