Ciphers - Bush Theatre
CIPHERS, by award-winning playwright Dawn King, is being co-produced by the Bush Theatre, Out of Joint and Exeter Northcott Theatre, where it will premiere prior to a national tour in Autumn 2013.
The production, directed by Blanche McIntyre, will have an extended run at the Bush Theatre from January 14 to February 8, 2014.
Most of what she told me about herself is a cover story. She is a British Intelligence Officer. How far would she go to get information out of me? The answer is, quite far.
A young woman is found dead. Her sister sets out to find out what happened, and stumbles into a world of secrets and subterfuge that makes her question who Justine really was. How well can you ever know someone who lies for a living?
Ciphers reunites director Blanche McIntyre (widely acclaimed for her recent production of The Seagull for Headlong and Most Promising Newcomer, Critics’ Circle Awards 2012) with Dawn King following their collaboration on King’s much admired debut play Foxfinder (Finborough Theatre, 2011).
Out of Joint’s other work includes Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Our Country’s Good, co-produced with the Octagon Theatre Bolton, which enjoyed an extended run at St James Theatre earlier this year.
