Cool Rider - further casting announced (updated)
FURTHER casting has been announced for Cool Rider (formerly entitled Grease 2 in Concert), which plays two performances at the Lyric Theatre on Monday, January 27, 2014.
Joining the previously announced Reece Shearsmith as biology teacher Mr Stuart are Ashleigh Gray (as Stephanie), Aaron Sidwell (Michael), Hannah Levane (Paulette) and Niall Sheehy (Johnny).
The principal cast is completed by Bronté Barbe (BBC’s Over The Rainbow) as Sharon, Nadine Cox (Wicked, original London cast) as Ms Mason, Joshua Dowen (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, UK tour) as Louis, Evelyn Hoskins (Spring Awaking, original London cast, Misfits) as Rhonda, Kane Oliver Parry (The Light Princess, National Theatre) as Goose and Ben Stott (Into The Woods, Regent’s Park, Wicked) as Davey.
The cast also includes Amy Bridges, Luke Dart, Joao Diogo, Callum Evans, Beki Hamilton, Ross Harbron, Cameron Hay, Megan Jenkins, Millie-rose Keutenius, Meesha Lyth, Alice Martin, Jordan Matthews, Phil McCloskey, Samuel Morgan-Grahame, Simone Murphy, Parisa Shahmir, Rose Shalloo, Genevieve Taylor, George Tebbutt, Sam Toland, Jessica West and Richard Watkins.
Ashleigh Gray’s many recent theatre credits include standby Elphaba in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), Martha in The Secret Garden (UK tour), Lorraine in I Dreamed A Dream (UK tour); Kim in Taboo (UK tour); Miss Lynch in Grease (UK tour), Emily in Myths and Hymns (Finborough Theatre) and Miranda in Betwixt! (Trafalgar Studios).
Gray has also made guest appearances in Momentous Musicals, Susan Boyle in Concert, Lee Mead at The Pheasantry and West End Men.
Aaron Sidwell’s career began at 18 when he was cast as Steven Beale in the BBC’s long running drama EastEnders. His theatre credits include Michael Dork in Loserville (Garrick Theatre), Jack Sprat in the UK No.1 Tour of Carnaby Street, Ham in Children of Eden (Prince of Wales Theatre) and Kyle Gibson in The Prodigals (Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Festival).
Hannah Levane most recently appeared as Joanne in the 20th Anniversary Concert Tour of Rent. Her other recent theatre work includes Chantelle in the European Premiere of Bare (Union Theatre), Michelle and cover Dolores in Sister Act (national tour), Keisha in Flashdance (Shaftesbury Theatre), Teacher/Alternate Killer Queen in We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre), Taylor in Disney’s High School Musical (national tour) and Annie and cover Bess in Porgy and Bess (Savoy Theatre).
Niall Sheehy, best known as a finalist on the ITV’s Superstar, is currently appearing in Les Miserables at the Queens Theatre. His other theatre credits include cover Fiyero in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), Spamalot (UK tour), A-rab in West Side Story (Gaiety Theatre, Dublin) and Carson/Peter in A Man Of No Importance (Union Theatre and Arts Theatre).
