Crime of the Century - Chickenshed
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
PRIOR to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Chickenshed is presenting Crime of the Century at its North London Theatre – from July 9 to July 11, 2009.
Crime of the Century, a physical dance theatre piece exploring knife crime and the issues that surround it, tells the story of how one fatal moment can change the lives of so many people.
Crime of the Century is based on real interviews with real people who have been affected by knife crime, although knife crime is something that affects us all. Last year, over 30 young people died through stabbings. Tragically, the youngest of those was the nephew of Chickenshed’s Director of Education and a cousin of one of the cast members.
Victims of knife assaults and former gang members are members of Chickenshed theatre and many of these people are contributing to the production.
Chickenshed’s previous work includes the critically acclaimed as the mother of a brown boy….
