Dreamboats and Petticoats returns to the West End
DREAMBOATS and Petticoats will return to London’s West End, this time to Wyndham’s Theatre where it will play a limited season from October 16, 2012 to January 19, 2013.
The move coincides with the release of Dreamboats and Petticoats 6, the new instalment from the highly successful music franchise by Universal.
Dreamboats and Petticoats has been seen by more than two million people since it premiered in 2009.
Inspired by the multi-million selling albums, it features some of the greatest songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era – songs such as Let’s Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Bobby’s Girl, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, Let it Be Me and Let’s Twist Again.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is set in 1961. Emotions are running high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition – and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue. But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckon…
Dreamboats and Petticoats is written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather, The New Statesmen and Shine On Harvey Moon, and is produced by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield in association with Universal Music.
