Dreamboats and Petticoats transfers to Playhouse

IN THE New Year, Dreamboats and Petticoats, which closed at the Savoy Theatre at the end of October, will re-open at the Playhouse Theatre. Performances begin on January 6, 2010.
It replaces the Olivier Award-winning musical La Cage Aux Folles, which closes at the end of its current booking period – on January 2, 2010.
Previously Posted: Dreamboats and Petticoats has extended its run at the Savoy Theatre. Originally booking until September 12, it will now continue until October 31, 2009.
Previously Posted: The new musical Dreamboats and Petticoats, which is currently touring the UK, will transfer to the West End’s Savoy Theatre for a limited season – from July 29 (previews from July 22) to September 12, 2009.
The cast includes Scott Bruton (The X Factor), Ben Freeman (Emmerdale), Jennifer Biddall (Hollyoaks), David Cardy (Birds of a Feather), Daisy Wood-David and AJ Dean.
Dreamboats and Petticoats fills the gap between the closure of Carousel on June 20 and the UK premiere of Legally Blonde which begins preview performances on December 5, 2009.

Written by Marks and Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather and Shine On Harvey Moon, Dreamboats and Petticoats is being presented by Bill Kenwright and Laurie Mansfield in association with Universal Music.
Following its release last year, Dreamboats and Petticoats became one of the biggest selling albums of the decade, with sales of more than 600,000 copies; while Dreamboats and Petticoats Two, reached Number Two in the charts within the first week of its release.
