Footstorm - Peacock Theatre
FOLLOWING a countrywide tour during April and May 2013, Irish dance group Prodijig are bringing their new show Footstorm to London – to the Peacock Theatre, where it will run from July 5 to July 7, 2013.
Lead dancer and choreographer, Alan Kenefick, has created what is described as a mind blowing visual extravaganza, where the drama and passion of dance illustrates an impossible tender love story. Kenefick hit the spotlight last year when his dance troupe Prodijig won Sky 1’s popular Got to Dance series.
He said: “I’m really proud of the music. It’s been designed to tell the story, which is why it’s so much more than a score. The storyline is really dramatic – a love story set between two worlds. Good versus evil but keeps the modern edge that we created with Prodijig.”
Working alongsideKenefick is Kim Gavin, whose credits include the London Olympics and Paralympics Closing Ceremonies in 2012. The show is co-scored by classical Brit-winning producer Rupert Christie.
The lead dancers hail from Prodijig, the seven strong dance troupe known for taking a bulldozer to the traditions of Irish dance. The group, made up of Alan Kenefick, Ciara McGillan, Andy O Reilly, Darren Casey, Dane McKiernana, Christiana Havlin and Bobby Hodges, are all ex-Riverdance members and champions in their own right, winning competitions all over the world.
