Fully Committed returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

TO CELEBRATE its tenth anniversary year, the Menier Chocolate Factory is presenting a brand new production of the show that put it on the map. Fully Committed, starring comedian Kevin Bishop, runs from September 3 to November 15, 2014.

Described as a whirlwind culinary comedy, Fully Committed is set in one of Manhattan’s hottest restaurants, where the city never sleeps and the phone never stops ringing…

Blackmail, harassment, humiliation – how far would you go to get a table at the smartest restaurant in town?

Sam Peliczowski is in demand, but not for his acting. Instead he mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one eatery and everyone wants a piece of him. As he juggles scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and an egomaniacal boss, Sam also has to find space to sort out his own life and flagging career.

Fully Committed features over forty characters in an unforgettable comedy tour-de-force.

Kevin Bishop’s theatre credits include Fat Pig (Comedy Theatre) and The Recruiting Officer (Chichester Festival Theatre).

For television, Bishop wrote and starred in his own comedy sketch series The Kevin Bishop Show for Channel 4. As well as a regular on the US sitcom Super Fun Night and the BBC sitcom Whites, he has made guest appearances on Hotel Babylon, Peep Show, Love Soup and My Family. His film work includes A Few Best Men, Susie Gold and Muppet Treasure Island (as Jim Hawkins).

Fully Committed is directed by Mark Setlock, who starred in the show at the Menier ten years ago, and designed by Tim Shortall, with lighting by Tim Mascall and sound by Gareth Fry.

Forbidden Broadway continues at the Menier Chocolate Factory until August 30, 2014 before transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre in September.
