Ghost The Musical extends booking period

GHOST The Musical has extended its booking period at the Piccadilly Theatre. Originally booking until January 28, 2012, it will now continue until October 13, 2012.

Previously Posted: Richard Fleeshman (as Sam) and Caissie Levy (Molly) will lead the cast in Ghost The Musical, which begins performances at the Piccadilly Theatre on June 22, 2011.

The cast of Matthew Warchus’ stage musical version of the Academy Award-winning film will also include Sharon D Clarke as Oda Mae Brown and Andrew Langtree as Carl.

Ghost is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged. Sam dies and is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next, unable to leave Molly who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.

Richard Fleeshman was recently seen on stage playing Warner Huntington III opposite Sheridan Smith in Legally Blonde The Musical (Savoy Theatre). On television he is best known as Coronation Street‘s Craig Harris, a role he played for four years and, more recently, All the Small Things‘ Kyle Caddick.

As a musician, Fleeshman was the youngest contestant to win ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes Celebrity Special. Later, in 2006, he won ITV’s Soapstar Superstar. In 2008, he accompanied Elton John on his Summer Stadium and Red Piano tours. His album Neon was released in 2007 followed by the singles Coming Down, Hold Me Close, Back Here and Can You Hear Me?

Caissie Levy made her Broadway debut as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, a role she recreated on tour in the US. She went on to play Maureen Johnson in the US tour of Rent and in 2008 starred as Elphaba in the Los Angeles production of Wicked. She last appeared on stage as Sheila in the Broadway and West End productions of Hair.

Sharon D Clarke, who was last seen on stage as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre), has also appeared as Charity in Mother Goose (Hackney Empire), Mama Morton in Chicago (Adelphi Theatre), Killer Queen in We Will Rock (Dominion Theatre) and Rafiki in The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre).

Her television credits include a judge on The Last Choir Standing and Holby City (as Lola Griffin).

Andrew Langtree‘s theatre credits include Sky in the original London production of Mamma Mia!; The Glass Menagerie, London Assurance and Six Degrees of Separation (Royal Exchange, Manchester); The Rose Tattoo (National Theatre); and Blood Brothers and Fame (West End).

On television, he has appeared in Doctors, Heartbeat, Cutting It, Coronation Street and Emmerdale (as Justin Gallagher). He also appeared in the film De Lovely.

Joining them in the cast of Ghost The Musical will be Ivan de Freitas (as Willie Lopez), Adebayo Bolaji (Subway Ghost), Mark Pearce (Hospital Ghost), Lisa Davina Phillip (Clara) and Jenny Fitzpatrick (Louise). They in turn will be joined by ensemble and swing members Jaygan Ayeh, Paul Ayres, Darren Carnall, Rochelle Neil, Michael Peters, Laura Selwood, Yemie Sonuga, Spencer Stafford, Phillipa Stefani, Jez Unwin and Sally Whitehead.

Ghost The Musical will receive its premiere at the Opera House, Manchester, where it runs for a strictly limited seven week season – from March 28 to May 14, 2011.

The West End production is currently booking until January 28, 2012.
