Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THE OFFICIAL Agatha Christie Theatre Company production of Go Back For Murder will visit Richmond Theatre (June 24 to June 29, 2013) as part of a UK tour.

Carla Le Marchant has to live with a disturbing family secret; her mother, Caroline Crale, died in prison while serving life for killing her husband. However, on finding a letter in which Caroline claims that she’s innocent, Carla becomes obsessed, determined to clear her mother’s name.

Enlisting the help of Justin Fogg, the son of Caroline’s defense lawyer, Carla tracks down a number of people from her mother’s tragic past, only to uncover a shocking truth…

The cast includes Liza Goddard (Bergerac, Give Us A Clue) as Miss Williams; Sophie Ward (Land Girls, Heatrbeat, Holby City, the 2011 film Jane Eyre) as Carla Crale; Robert Duncan (Drop the Dead Donkey‘s Gus Hedges) as Philip Blake; Gary Mavers (Peak Practice‘s Andrew Attwood) as Amyas Crale; Lysette Anthony (Woody Allen’s Husbands and Wives, Three Up, Two Down) as Elsa Greer; and Ben Nealon (Soldier, Soldier‘s Jeremy Forsyth) as Justin Fogg.

Directed by Joe Harmston, Go Back For Murder is designed by Simon Scullion, with costume design by Brigid Guy, lighting by Douglas Kuhrt and sound by Matthew Bugg.

Go Back for Murder follows the hugely successful The Hollow, The Unexpected Guest, And Then There Were None, Spider’s Web, Witness For The Prosecution, Verdict and Murder on the Nile.

Go Back For Murder was adapted by Christie in 1960 from her novel Five Little Pigs, editing out the legendary detective Poirot for the stage version. Christie has sold over two billion books and is outsold only by the Bible and Shakespeare.

The tour opens in Windsor (January 8 to January 19) before continuing to Cheltenham, Malvern, Wolverhampton, Edinburgh, Chesterfield, Darlington, Cambridge, Guildford, Leicester, Blackpool, Wyvern, Cardiff, Eastbourne, Barnstaple, Bath, High Wycombe, Southend, Stoke, Bromley, Harrogate, Richmond, Milton Keynes and Shrewsbury.

Further dates will be announced.
