FOLLOWING its premiere at the International Youth Arts Festival at the Rose Theatre, Kingston, Grim: A New Musical will receive its Off West End premiere at Charing Cross Theatre, where it runs from Monday, August 4 to Saturday, August 30, 2014.
The collision of the two most powerful forces in the world – the power of love and the power of death – Grim: A New Musical tells the epic story of the Grim Reaper falling in love with Cupid.
Adam Wollerton directs a cast that includes Roseanna Christoforou (as Grim), Anthony Matteo (Cupid), Georgi Mottram (Amelia), Kathryn Rutherford (Cherry), Rhiannon Drake (Sabrina) and Louisa Cameron (Ruby).
Grim: A New Musical is presented by The Untold Theatre Company. Founded by Fiona O’Malley (book and lyrics) and Adam Wollerton (director), the company’s previous work includes the acclaimed new musical The Daily Fail at Waterloo East Theatre in 2013.
O’Malley has written for Vogue, The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Guardian and The Irish Times and is recognised as a best-selling author for her novel Goodbye Mrs. Robinson. In addition to The Daily Fail, Wollerton’s recent work includes Dream (IYAF 2012), and Lady From The Sea (The Rose Theatre, 2012) and Friller: The Tour (Yorkshire/London 2014).
With music by Joseph Alexander, Grim: A New Musical has choreography by Sam Lathwood and Adam Jay-Price, set and costume design by Anna Driftmier, lighting by Jack Weir and make up by Sophie Venes.
