Grumpy Old Women transfers to West End

FOLLOWING the success of its spring tour and ahead of a second tour which begins this coming October, Grumpy Old Women will transfer directly to the West End’s Lyric Theatre, where it will run for just 37 performances – from June 14 to July 15, 2006.

Smaller, starring Dawn French, Alison Moyet and June Watson, is currently playing at the Lyric Theatre where it finishes an extended run on June 3, 2006.

Previously Posted: A stage adaptation of BBC Two’s hit show Grumpy Old Women will visit Richmond Theatre on Sunday, May 21, 2006, as part of a 39-date UK tour.

Jenny Eclair, Linda Robson and Dillie Keane will host an orgy of middle aged mayhem in what has been described as “90 minutes of theatrical HRT with not a thong in sight.”

Grumpy Old Women Live is a celebration of the pre, peri and post menopausal female condition. Audiences are warned that ‘tutting’, but not heckling, is allowed; and reminded not to forget their bifocals….

Grumpy Old Women was co-written by Judith Holder, producer of the television series, and comedian, writer and performer Jenny Eclair.

The original TV series attracted 4.8 million viewers per episode, while 5 million tuned in for the Christmas specials.
