Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

OLIVIER Award nominated actress Hannah Waddingham will perform an intimate cabaret show at the Menier Chocolate Factory – for six performances only – from Tuesday, March 16 to Saturday, March 20, 2010.

With musical direction by Chris Walker and accompanied by her big band, she will perform not only swing and show tunes but also pop and jazz.

Waddingham was last seen on the London stage as Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music, both at the Menier Chocolate Factory and the Garrick Theatre. For her performance, she has just been nominated for this year’s Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Entertainment.

Waddingham’s other theatre credits include The Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot (West End and Broadway), Lautrec (Shaftesbury Theatre), The Beautiful Game (Cambridge Theatre), Tonight’s The Night (Victoria Palace Theatre), A Chorus of Disapproval (Theatre Clwyd), Bad Girls the Musical (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Smokey Joe’s Café (UK tour) and The Likes of Us (Sydmonton Festival).

On screen, she has appeared in My Hero, William and Mary, Coupling and Footballers’ Wives (TV); How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, The Only Boy for Me and Note (film). Later this year she can be seen in the BBC 1 comedy My Family.

Most recently the Menier Chocolate Factory transferred A Little Night Music and La Cage Aux Folles to the West End. The former is currently playing on Broadway with Catherine Zeta -Jones, Angela Lansbury and Alexander Hanson, while the latter opens on April 18, 2010 with Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge in the leading roles.

Tickets: Standard Ticket £22.50, Meal Deal Ticket £31, Concessions and Group Bookings £18. All seating unreserved.

Times: Tuesday to Saturday at 8pm, plus late show on Saturday, March 20 at 11pm.

NB: The performance will be recorded live and be available as an album later this year.

The sold out production of Sweet Charity continues at the Menier Chocolate Factory until March 7, 2010.
