I Can't Sing! - Nigel Harman joins cast
NIGEL Harman will play a character based on Simon Cowell in the forthcoming X Factor musical I Can’t Sing!, which opens at the London Palladium on March 26, 2014, following preview performances from February 27.
Joining him as principal cast members will be Cynthia Erivo, currently appearing in The Color Purple at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and Alan Morrissey.
Written by comedian Harry Hill and directed by Olivier Award winner Sean Foley, I Can’t Sing! goes behind the microphone and under the judges’ desk to reveal the story of heartache and laughter that continues to attract millions of viewers every week.
Although Nigel Harman will always be remembered for his portrayal of EastEnders‘ Dennis Rickman, he has appeared on stage in Privates on Parade, The Exonerated (as Kerry Max Cooke), Guy and Dolls (West End), The Caretaker (Tricycle Theatre), The Common Pursuit (Menier Chocolate Factory), Three Days of Rain (Apollo Theatre), A Chorus of Disapproval (Harold Pinter Theatre) and Shrek The Musical (Theatre Royal Drury Lane).
Cynthia Erivo, who will play central contestant Chenice, has previously appeared in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Gielgud Theatre), Sister Act The Musical (UK Tour) and LIFT (Soho Theatre).
Although Alan Morrissey made his film debut in The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse in 2005 starring alongside Steve Pemberton and Bruno Langley, he is best known for his television debut as Nicky Van Barr in the BBC medical drama series Holby City, a role he played in 18 episodes.
