Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

A NEW London production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is being staged on The Battersea Barge, moored on the banks of the River Thames near Battersea Power Station, from Monday, July 14 to Thursday, July 17, 2014.

A musical comedy revue with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is directed by Drew Baker and stars David Ribi, currently playing Zanna in Zanna Don’t! at the Landor Theatre (as Man 1), Nic Kyle (Man 2), Sarah Goggin (Woman 1) and Chloe Taylor (Woman 2).

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the beginning of romance, to those who have dared to ask, ‘Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’ A celebration of the mating game, it takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as “the relationship”.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change ran for more than 10 years in New York, where it holds the record as the second longest running musical in Off-Broadway history with 5,003 performances.

As well as Zanna Don’t!, David Ribi’s other theatre credits include Sketch/Link cover in Hairspray (UK and Ireland Tour), Bobby in Dreamboats and Petticoats (West End, UK and European tour), Dave in Heaven Sent (New Wimbledon Theatre), Frankie Valli and Buddy Holly in Shakin’ All Over (UK tour), Benny in Waterloo (UK tour) and Gingerbread Man/Bobby Shaftoe in Nursery Crimes: An Adult Comedy Musical (Kings Head Theatre).

Originally from New Zealand, Nic Kyle is making his London theatre debut in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (also in New Zealand). His other credits include The Producers, The Cape, The History Boys, Baghdad Baby! La Cage Aux Folles and Anything Goes. He also played Chris in the New Zealand Premiere of Miss Saigon.

Sarah Goggin’s theatre roles include Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors (Warrington), Janey/Kim in Taboo (Brixton Clubhouse) and a vocalist in Christmas in New York (Palace Theatre). She will next be appearing as Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act at Kilworth House.

Chloe Taylor has played Sister Sophia in The Sound of Music (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Mrs Beaver in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Oxford), Off Her Trolley Molly in Jack and the Beanstalk (Hackney Empire), standby Glinda in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre), Donna Marie and Mrs Lyons in Blood Brothers (Phoenix Theatre and national tour) and Ada Figgins in Hobson’s Choice (Liverpool Epstein Theatre).

Produced by Dréim Productions, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change has musical direction by Benjamin Holder.
