Initial casting announced for The Hunt at the Almeida Theatre

Casting news

INITIAL casting has been announced for the world premiere of The Hunt.

Based on the critically acclaimed Danish film thriller Jagten by Thomas Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm and adapted by David Farr, it runs at the Almeida Theatre from June 17 to August 3, 2019.

The line up includes Michele Austin (as Hilde), Danny Kirrane (Gunner), Tobias Menzies (Lucas) and Howard Ward (Per/Pastor), with further casting to be announced in due course.

In a small town in northern Denmark, the children celebrate Harvest Festival. In the forest by the water the men of the lodge stand naked in the cold. This is their country. This is their song.

In the shadows a lonely child gives a strange man her heart. The hunt begins.

The Hunt will be directed by Almeida Artistic Director Rupert Goold and designed by Es Devlin, with costumes by Evie Gurney, lighting by Neil Austin, sound and composition by Adam Cork, movement by Botis Seva and casting by Amy Ball.
