Killing Romeo - Lion and Unicorn Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

WRITTEN and directed by Jazz Martinez – Gamboa, Killing Romeo runs at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre from Tuesday, May 21 to Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Two actors rehearse late into the night, trying to find the reality in their characters, Romeo and Juliet.

Alone together in the rehearsal space, desperate for success, and carrying hidden scars of the past, the innocent infatuation of the star-crossed lovers becomes perverted by the actors’ obsessions. Old scars open up and turn into bleeding wounds.

Killing Romeo stars Alex Marx and Antoinette Alexandrou.

Produced by Savannah James-Bayly, Killing Romeo is designed by Roberta Bratovic and has lighting by Scott Pryce-Jones.

Tickets: £15/£12 – available from the box office on 08444 77 1000 or from Ticketweb.

Times: Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, Saturday matinee at 3.30pm.

Othello runs at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre from April 16 to May 11, 2013.
