Lady Windermere’s Fan - Courtyard Theatre

Lady Windermere’s Fan

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

N1 Theatre Company is presenting Lady Windermere’s Fan, by Oscar Wilde, at the Courtyard Theatre – from Tuesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 16, 2013.

London is full of women who trust their husbands. One can always recognize them. They look so thoroughly unhappy. I am not going to be one of them. Lady Windermere.

Wilde’s witty dialogue, social satire and outrageous paradoxes for which he is still remembered are most evident in Lady Windermere’s Fan.

Wilde’s play illustrates the destructiveness of gossip and superficial judgement. It examines the ambiguous sexual morality and gender politics at the heart of the British ruling class, whilst simultaneously challenging our perception of what constitutes a “good woman”.

Petina Hapgood directs a cast of brand new, upcoming talent.

Time: 7.30pm (no Monday performances).
