LEGALLY Blonde The Musical has posted closing notices at the Savoy Theatre. Its final performance will be on Saturday, April, 7, 2012, when principal contracts end.

Carley Stenson who took over the role of Elle in July 2011 will continue until the show’s final performance. Stephen Ashfield will continue as Emmett, Ben Freeman as Warner and Peter Davison continues as Professor Callahan, a role he has played since the show’s premiere.

Legally Blonde The Musical opened in December 2009 and went on to win seven theatre awards including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical. Legally Blonde The Musical continues its tour of the UK and plans are in place for an Australian production to open in Sydney later this year.

Previously Posted: On October 10, 2011, Stephen Ashfield (as Emmett Forrest) and Ben Freeman (Warner Huntington III) will join Carley Stenson (Elle Woods), Natalie Casey (Paulette) and Peter Davison (Professor Callahan) in the cast of Legally Blonde The Musical, which is currently booking at the Savoy Theatre until October 27, 2012.

College sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods doesn’t take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend Warner dumps her for someone serious, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law! Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Stephen Ashfield’s theatre credits include Bob Gaudio in the original London cast of Jersey Boys, Boy George in Taboo (West End and UK tour), Nick in Fame (Aldwych Theatre), the Beast in Beauty and the Beast (Theatre Clwyd), Adam in Imagine This (Theatre Royal, Plymouth) and John in Tomorrow Morning (New End Theatre).

On screen, he has appeared in Tim Burton’s film of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.

Ben Freeman’s theatre credits include Norman in Dreamboats and Petticoats (Savoy Theatre and UK tour), George in Same Time, Next Year (Jersey Arts Centre), Friedrich in The Sound of Music (UK tour) and the roles of the Prince and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast (Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone).

His television credits include Emmerdale (as Scott Windsor), Grange Hill and Smith and Jones.

From October 10, 2011, the cast of Legally Blonde The Musical will also include Jon Tsouras (Padamadan, Nikos), Georgie Ashford (Gabby, Stenographer), Lucy Miller (Serena), Nathan Pinnell (Carlos), Tricia Adele Turner (Vivienne Kensington), Chris Ellis-Stanton (Grandmaster Chad, Dewey, Kyle), Danielle Steers (Judge, Saleswoman)…

Abiona Omonua (Pilar), Ellie Kirk (Margot), Gemma Sutton (Enid), Sorelle Marsh (Courtney, Mom, Whitney), Nick Hayes (Pforzheimer), Chloë Brooks (Kate, Chutney), Lincoln Stone (Dad, Winthrop, Reporter), Robbie Towns (Aaron), Gregory Sims (Kiki), Tamara Wall (Brooke Wyndham), Ross Hunter (Lowell) and Tara Young (Cece/District Attorney).

Swings will be Fabian Aloise, Henry Davis, Jane McMurtie, Ruthie Stephenson and Carolyn Maitland.

Legally Blonde The Musical opened at the Savoy Theatre in December 2009 and has been playing to packed audiences ever since. In 2011, it won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
