Defending The Caveman

LEICESTER Square Theatre has announced its programme for Spring 2010. Main House productions include:

Defending The Caveman by Rob Becker – Tuesday, February 2 to Sunday, February 21.

Described as an hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate, Defending The Caveman appeals to both sexes in equal measure. The longest running solo play in Broadway history, it has become a worldwide hit, translated into 16 different languages and performed to millions in more than 30 countries.

Directed by Cathy Farr, it stars Mark Little.

Tickets: £35 – £25.

Times: 7.15pm, Saturday matinee at 3pm, Sunday matinee at 4pm.

Jack and the Beanstalk – Sunday, March 7.

A traditional style, all-singing, all-dancing and all-rhyming pantomime suitable for all the family, this rags to riches tale is presented by Maurice Kachuk and his company of singers, actors and dancers, with Kachuk also starring as Dame Trot.

The production enjoyed a successful run in Bedford at Christmas.

Time: 2pm.

When The Lilac Blooms, My Love by Jane Huxley – Wednesday, April 14 to Saturday, May 1.

Huxley’s new play is set in modern-day suburbia where Nicky, a young woman returns to the family home to break the news to her family that she is pregnant, taking the reluctant father-to-be with her. However, on meeting the family a web of hidden passions unfolds that challenges the bonds between them.

Simon Beyer directs a cast that includes Sally Farmiloe-Neville.

Tickets: £35 – £25.

Times: 7.30pm, Saturday and Wednesday matinees at 2.30pm.
