Midnight Tango - Russell Grant joins cast
RUSSELL Grant will join Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone in Midnight Tango, which returns to the West End – to the Phoenix Theatre – for a limited run from January 30 to March 2, 2013.
Grant, who will play Argentine bar owner Carlos, will be reunited with Cacace, his 2011 Strictly Come Dancing partner. The two were hugely popular with both the studio and television audience and brought humour and the unexpected to their performances.
The show, which brings to life all the drama, sensuality and elegance of the tango, is set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires. It takes the audience on a journey into the heart of this intoxicating city, with dance and music telling a story that combines danger and excitement, joy and jealousy, pain and passion.
Midnight Tango is co-produced by Adam Spiegel and former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips, who said:
“Russell’s partnership with Flavia is well known, but I too have had a dance partnership with Russell, which began with his appearance in the title role of The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, followed by playing Teen Angel in the current national tour of Grease, and I’m delighted we now have a third partnership.”
Following the London dates, the show will tour to Eastbourne, Norwich, Woking, Southend, Bath, Nottingham, Wycombe, Birmingham, Newcastle, Truro, Cardiff, Hull, Northampton, Canterbury, Manchester and Leeds.
