Miss Polly Rae: The All New Hurly Burly Show
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
MISS POLLY Rae: The All New Hurly Burly Show, starring Miss Polly Rae and directed by celebrated stylist and West End director William Baker, will premiere at Leicester Square Theatre.
Featuring burlesque art, vocal talent, ‘sensationally’ mixed pop classics and state of the art lighting and production values, it will run for a limited season only – from Tuesday, February 23 to Sunday, February 28, 2010.
Baker is critically acclaimed as Kylie Minogue’s Creative Director, and for his collaborations with Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Bjork and Jamiroquai.
Musical direction is by Steve Anderson, who has mixed together a soundtrack of Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, Rhiana and Destiny’s Child numbers for Miss Polly Rae to perform.
Assistant director is Tony Testa, who can be seen choreographing Michael Jackson for his ill-fated O2 tour in the This Is It feature film. He also choreographed Kylie Minogue’s first tour of the USA and has created work for Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.
The show’s choreography is by Australian Ashley Warren, who not only choreographed Kylie Minogue’s Love Kylie underwear launch but has also worked with the Sugababes, Mariah Carey, Nicole Kidman, Charlotte Church, Atomic Kitten and Will Young.
Lighting design is by the legendary Nick Whitehouse, who lit Justin Timberlake’s TV special, Future Sex Love Show, Kylie Minogue’s 4 Music X Launch Special, as well as arena tours, including Britney Spear’s 2009 Circus world tour, Alicia Keys’ As I Am and KanYe West’s Touch the Sky.
And special guests include Elouise and DJ Tasty Tim.
