YELLOW Leaf Theatre in association with New End Theatre is presenting Vanessa Rosenthal’s Modelling Spitfires at the Hampstead venue – from Tuesday, February 16 to Sunday, March 7, 2010.
The play, an intriguing exploration of middle-aged relationships and mental sickness, deals with the shattering effect on family life when mental illness strikes.
Maurice and Marcia are a middle-aged brother and sister living in the well appointed home of their late parents. Marcia is happily planning her future when Maurice returns home from hospital where he has been a psychiatric inpatient for some time. But Maurice has some astonishing news for Marcia, which threatens all her well thought out future plans.
With thought provoking content and humour bringing light hearted relief, Modelling Spitfires asks: who is the manipulator and who is the manipulated?
Alan Meadows directs a cast that includes Vanessa Rosenthal, Chris Wilkinson and Julie Higginson.
Vanessa Rosenthal is an award-winning writer, actress and champion for the voice and experience of the over 50s.
